Welcome to the new home of Nebraska Precision Agriculture.

At the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, precision agriculture technologies have been investigated through on-going research programs, presented to students in our teaching curriculum and conveyed to agriculturists in Nebraska as well as other states and countries through different extension programs and outreach activities.

According to the National Research Council, "precision agriculture is a management strategy that uses information technologies to bring data from multiple sources to bear on decisions associated with crop production." Although numerous technologies, such as food traceability and precision livestock management, have merged with the traditional site-specific crop management, the main topics essential to the adoption of precision agriculture are:

  • Precision Agriculture Basics
  • GNSS and Guidance
  • Yield Monitoring and Mapping
  • Remote Sensing for Agriculture
  • Soil and Crop Sensing
  • Electronics and Control Systems
  • Field Variability Management
  • Economics of Precision Agriculture
  • Environmental Implication of Precision Agriculture
